"The Boston Museum of Science has developed materials to be used in introducing children to engineering and technology. The goal of this initiative is to inspire the next generation of engineers, inventors, and innovators."

This page is an analysis of the 'Engineering is Elementary' book Galya and Natasha's Rocky Adventure. I read this book, completed the "try it" activity, and prepared a PowerPoint presentation about the book, its materials and its activity.
Despite some criticisms that are evident in the PowerPoint, I believe that this book would provide a great lesson for elementary age students. The activity itself and the lesson are relatively easy and therefore, I think they would act as a great introduction to engineering for a Kindergarten class. I would recommend the use of this book in a lesson plan for a kindergarten class. The STEM curriculum is crucial to a student's education in today's world. The implementation of lessons that include things like these 'Engineering is Elementary' books is a great way to incorporate the STEM curriculum.
